Beet the Heat

If you ask me my top 5 favorite Vegetables, Beets will be one of them.

Recently I have learned how Beets are super effective, from the Book “How Not To Die  – Book by Gene Stone and Michael Greger”

Especially, it improves athletic performance (cycling, running and any high intensity training) and Improves VO2 efficiency by increase in oxygen Intake up to 20 %.

Beets contain high concentration of Nitrates and Pigment (that reddish pink Phyto color which I am totally Obsessed of ) that has Tremendous effects of lowering Blood pressure levels, also promoting good weight loss.

Beet cucumber Yogurt (Raita) – This quick instant dish is amazing to Soothe your stomach as a savory snack or as a side dish. Adding Indian tampering is completely optional but it adds a whole different flavor to it. You can also go that extra Mile by adding some All plant protein powder and fiber powder to full fill your needs or to reach daily intake.

  • 1 grated beetroot
  • 1 Cup Greek yogurt / Almond Milk yogurt / yogurt of your choice
  • 1 peeled and grated cucumber
  • 5 crushed mint
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of Chat masala (Optional)

Indian Tampering (Optional)

  • 1 Tbsp Ghee/ coconut oil
  • Garlic (Optional)
  • Cumin seeds
  • Red chilli
  • 5 Curry leafs
  • 1 Tbsp Moong dal (Lentils)
  • Asafoetida powder

Mix all the Ingredients in the Bowl, add a simple Indian Tempering on top of it  and have a Happy soothing Serving
