Let’s step back and think about what our mom and grand mom used to feed “A high nutritious food balancing wide spectrum ”…I remember my mom insisting me on eating sesame laddus but it took me a long way to understand the nutritional values behind it, especially for women.
Sesame laddus with a twist (millennial name ENERGY BITES, ENERGY BOMBS)
They are great as a dessert to satisfy your sugar cravings. A sustainable fuel for your hikes, runs, long bike rides… Yes, It’s the best medicine for women who are suffering from PCOS , irregular menstrual cycles as sesame is rich in calcium ,Iron , zinc , magnesium, molybdenum and is loaded with protein and doesn’t spike your insulin levels. Jaggery is rich in Iron and helps strengthen the hormones.. the combination together is just a magic medicine .. It also generates enough heat for your body
For all vegan’s sesame is one of the best sources for calcium 1 TBSP has 88mg of calcium… This is a vegan friendly recipe
- 2 cups of sesame
- 1/3 or 1/2 cup Jaggery Powder (according to your sweet levels you can also replace with dates and for 0 sugar with monk fruit sugar)
- 1/3 cup of almond butter
- 1/3 or 1/2 cup of all plant protein powder
- 2 tbsp Coco powder (optional or add more if you need)
Roast sesame seeds till they turn brown, let it cool and grind it into a powder or butter consistency using High speed blender and add all the remaining ingredients and bind them into balls. You can also add roasted nuts for chunky consistency….
